Monzo Savings Options

Saving Pots

Monzo's savings pots allow you to organize your money and save for specific goals. You can set up custom pots with names and images, and even lock them to prevent impulsive spending.

Monzo's own savings pot offers a competitive interest rate and instant access to your funds.

Monzo offers two types of ISAs:

Cash ISAs:

  • Instant Access Cash ISA Savings Pot: Monzo's own instant access Cash ISA with a competitive interest rate.
  • Easy Access Cash ISAs: Offered by Monzo's savings partners, providing various interest rates and terms.

Stocks and Shares ISAs:

Stocks and Shares ISA: Invest in a diversified portfolio of funds managed by BlackRock, a leading global investment firm.

Choose from three risk levels to suit your investment goals and risk tolerance:

Careful: You're comfortable with a lower-risk investment, prioritizing stability over high returns. This fund invests primarily in bonds (80%) and a smaller portion in stocks (20%).

Balanced: You're seeking a balance between risk and reward. This fund invests in a mix of bonds (34%) and stocks (66%) to achieve a moderate level of risk and potential return.

Adventurous: You're comfortable with higher risk for potentially higher returns. This fund invests 100% in stocks, making it a more volatile but potentially more rewarding option.

Key Points:

  • You can contribute up to £20,000 per tax year to ISAs.
  • Withdrawals from ISAs are tax-free.
  • Monzo's Stocks and Shares ISA is a good option for beginners who want to start investing with a low minimum investment.

Additional Information:

  • You can have both a Cash ISA and a Stocks and Shares ISA in the same tax year, but your total contributions cannot exceed £20,000.
  • Monzo does not currently offer Lifetime, Junior, or Innovative Finance ISAs.

Consolidate Your Pensions with Monzo

Monzo have recently launched their new pension scheme. Monzo can help you find and combine most workplace and personal pensions with just a few details, giving you a clearer view of your future money. You just need to tell them where you’ve worked, and when, and they’ll do all the detective work to find your pensions.

The Monzo pension has no hidden fees, but the fees are rather high. If you sign-up for one of Monzo’s fee paying account plans you get a big reduction on the fees. If you are going to go with Monzo for a pension it will definitely pay to join their Perks or Max plans.

FNZ Securities Limited is the pension provider for the Monzo Pension. They operate and administer your SIPP – meaning they take care of the day-to-day running of your pension. This includes following FCA rules for pension scheme operators, and HMRC rules for administrators.

If you're comfortable managing your own ISAs and SIPPs, companies like InvestEngine and Interactive Investor may be better options. They will both be considerably cheaper when it comes to fees.
